It's no secret that the popularity of electric cars in the world is growing every day. If earlier each manufacturer tried to present at least one model in its list, now many have several copies or completely want to switch to the production of electric cars. As statistics show, buyers are not asleep, they buy hundreds of thousands of electric cars every year and this figure is only growing.

The article presents a rating of the TOP 10 most bought cars for 2020 in Ukraine. In total, 6.8 thousand electric cars were sold in Ukraine for 11 and a half months of 2020, while only 559 copies from this list were completely new. Of this number, there are both less and more popular brands, so let's take a closer look at who became the leader and how this rating will develop in the next year. The ranking is from the best-selling new electric cars to the less-selling ones. Prices for electric cars are taken as of December 24, 2020.

1. Charged Audi E-Tron

The Audi E-Tron has become the most popular and best-selling electric car in Ukraine in 2020. Stylish and SUV Audi E-Tron is available in two trim levels Standard and Sportback. In the standard version, two electric motors are installed, the first is installed parallel to the front axle, thereby saving free space. Its output is 125 kW (170 hp) and 247 Nm of torque.

The second engine is located directly on the rear axle. The power of the second unit is 140 kW (190 hp) and 314 Nm of torque. The total power is 265 kW (360 hp) and 561 Nm of torque. Thanks to these characteristics, the maximum speed of the Audi E-Tron is 200 km / h (software limited), and acceleration to 100 km / h will take 6.6 seconds (in Boost mode, 5.7 seconds). If you believe the measurements according to the WLTP standard, the range of an electric car from a lithium-ion battery will last for 411 kilometers without recharging.

The top modification of the Audi E-Tron Sportback differs from the standard version with a roof and other decorative details. Accordingly, following the design, the manufacturer changed the technical characteristics of the electric car. The arrangement of the units is the same as in the standard version, but the power is more. According to the manufacturer, the total power of the electric motors of the Audi E-Tron Sportback is 300 kW (408 hp) and 664 Nm of torque.

Four-wheel drive and the aggressiveness of the electric car will help you fully feel its power. If you believe the measurements of the WLTP standard, then the range on a fully charged battery will last for 446 kilometers without recharging. Despite the more power, the dynamic performance remains the same and is limited by software. The maximum speed at around 200 km / h, and the first hundred on the speedometer, the electric car will overcome in 5.7 seconds. According to statistics, for 11 months of 2020 in Ukraine there were sold 103 copies this model.

2. New Jaguar I-Pace

The second position in the ranking was taken by the Jaguar I-Pace crossover, which appeared on the electric car market quite recently. In the automotive market of Ukraine, the new product is officially offered in 3 trim levels (S, SE and HSE). Despite the different configurations, there are no differences in terms of technical characteristics.

As befits an all-wheel drive electric car, the new Jaguar I-Pace is equipped with 2 electric motors, one per wheel axle. The total power of the units is 400 hp. and 700 Nm of torque.

However, despite this power, the dynamics are limited by software. The maximum speed will freeze at around 200 km / h, and overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in 4.8 seconds. The power reserve on a fully charged battery, according to measurements of the WLTP standard, is enough for 470 kilometers without recharging. For 2020 in Ukraine there were sold 74 units Jaguar I-Pace.

3. Modern Porsche Taycan

The three most bought electric cars in Ukraine are closed by the 4-door Porsche Taycan sedan with indicator of 56 sold electric vehicles for 2020. In dealerships in Ukraine, the electric car is presented in 3 trim levels (4S, Turbo and Turbo S). Unlike the previous two options, where there were few differences in the technical characteristics, in this model each configuration will surprise in its own way.

First on the list is the Porsche Taycan 4S electric car. The peak power of the power plant is 530 hp. and 650 Nm of torque. The maximum speed of such an electric car is 250 km / h, and the first hundred will pick up in 4 seconds. A fully charged battery will last for 333-407 kilometers.

The second is the modification of the Porsche Taycan Turbo electric car. Specifications live up to the name, peak power was 680 hp. and 850 Nm of torque. With such dynamic characteristics, the speed of the electric car has grown to 260 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h will take 3.2 seconds. A fully charged battery will last for 381-450 kilometers, depending on the driving style.

The last trim on the Porsche Taycan Turbo S list is also the most powerful. The total power of the electrical installation was 761 hp. and 1050 Nm of torque. Not every sports car with an internal combustion engine can surprise with such power. The maximum electric car can accelerate to 260 km / h, and the first hundred square meters on the speedometer will overcome in 2.8 seconds. A fully charged battery, according to the WLTP measurement standard, will last for 388-412 kilometers.

4. Hyundai Kona Electric

Not new, but already time-tested, the Hyundai Kona Electric crossover made its way to the list of the most bought electric cars in Ukraine. Another 4 electric cars and sales of Kona Electric have overtaken the Porsche Taycan. So in 2020, 53 copies of Kona Electric were sold in Ukraine. In dealerships in Ukraine, the company offered 2 configurations: Dynamic and Top, which differ from each other only in the design of individual parts and comfort systems.

In terms of technical characteristics, electric cars are the same. The electric car is driven by a modern synchronous electric motor with a capacity of 136 horses and 395 Nm of torque. Yes, this is not the same power as in the previous leaders of the rating, but it is quite enough for dynamic movement. The maximum speed of the Hyundai Kona Electric is 155 km / h, and the acceleration to hundreds is 9.7 seconds. As already mentioned, the differences may be in the batteries, so the basic configurations come with a 39.2 kWh battery (power reserve 312 km). Optionally, you can install a battery with a capacity of 64 kW * h (power reserve of 450 km), but it is available only for top-end configuration.

5. Compact BMW i3

The first five of the rating of the most bought electric vehicles in Ukraine is closed by the compact BMW i3. Today it is the only i-Series electric car officially presented on the territory of Ukraine. According to available statistics, since the beginning of 2020, there have been sold 48 new copies... In total, there are 2 modifications (i3 and i3s) for the buyer's choice. The manufacturer's list also includes i3 REX and i3s REX, but these are hybrid models, since under the hood there is an internal combustion engine with a volume of 0.65 liters.

Now about our electric cars BMW i3 and i3s. Modification of the BMW i3 will be able to produce 170 hp. and accelerate to a hundred square meters on the speedometer in 7.3 seconds (maximum speed 150 km / h). A more powerful modification of the BMW i3s can produce 184 hp. and overcome the 100 km / h mark in 6.9 seconds (maximum speed 160 km / h). The battery capacity on both versions is the same - 42.2 kWh. Despite the fact that many electric car manufacturers have switched to WLTP measurements, BMW adheres to the NEDC standard. According to reports, the i3 will be able to travel 335 km without recharging, and the BMW i3s 325 km.

6. Electric crossover Tesla Model X

The electric crossover Tesla Model X turned out to be no less popular. The electric car is quite expensive, besides, it is not officially sold in Ukraine. You need to order it through intermediaries or directly from another country. According to official data, in Ukraine, 30 new electric Tesla Model X crossovers were delivered for the first registration in 2020.

It is not known for certain what the characteristics of the purchased electric cars are. One can only guess, referring to the official website of the company. Most often, there are two modifications: Performance and Long Range Plus. The Performance modification accelerates to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km / h. The Tesla Model X Performance battery will last for 490 km.

The Tesla Model X Long Range Plus modification is slightly slower in acceleration, it will overcome a hundred in 4.6 seconds. The maximum speed is also limited at around 250 km / h, but the battery reserve will last for 564 kilometers.

7. Budget electric car JAC iEV7S

Among the premium electric cars in the TOP-10 rating, an inexpensive Chinese-made copy is registered. In 2020, 20 copies of JAC iEV7S electric cars were sold in Ukraine. Unlike the previous leaders in the rating, the Chinese manufacturer did not provide a special choice, only one modification of the crossover.

The JAC iEV7S is driven by an electric motor with a power of 85 kW (115 hp) and 270 Nm of torque. The maximum speed is 130 km / h, and the electric car can accelerate to the first hundred in 12 seconds. A fully charged battery will last for 300 kilometers.

8. Electric car Nissan Leaf

The eighth position of the rating was taken by the latest generation Nissan Leaf electric car. This model is just as imported as the Tesla. Officially, this electric car is not for sale in Ukraine. According to available information, 17 copies of Nissan Leaf were put on the initial registration in 2020. As a rule, the name of the package directly depends on the battery capacity. Most often, there are two options 40 kWh and 62 kWh. Both configurations are front-wheel drive.

So the modification of the Nissan Leaf 40 kW will be able to accelerate to a maximum of 144 km / h, and overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in 7.9 seconds. A fully charged battery lasts 350 kilometers on a single charge. The power of this configuration Nissan Leaf 40 kW is 150 hp. and 320 Nm of torque.

The second modification of the Nissan Leaf 62 kW will be able to produce 217 hp. and 340 Nm of torque. The maximum speed of such an electric car is 157 km / h, and overcomes a hundred on the speedometer in 7.3 seconds. The increase in the battery has affected the range, now it is 385 km.

9. Stylish Tesla Model 3

The penultimate position in the ranking is occupied by the Tesla Model 3 electric car. Like Model X, this model is not officially sold in Ukraine, so all options in the country are only imported. For 2020, 14 new copies were put on primary registration.

The most popular trim levels are Performance, Long Range and Standard Plus. The first two configurations are all-wheel drive, but the last modification is rear-wheel drive. Of course, the differences were also in the technical characteristics of electric cars. So Tesla Model 3 Standard Plus will be able to overcome 415 kilometers without recharging (maximum speed 225 km / h, acceleration to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds).

The Tesla Model 3 Performance variant received a longer range - 530 km. The maximum speed of this version is 261 km / h, and it will overcome a hundred on the speedometer in 3.4 seconds. The most thrifty is the Model 3 Long Range configuration - 560 kilometers without recharging. The maximum speed of such a Tesla is 233 km / h, and it overcomes a hundred square meters on the speedometer in 4.6 seconds.

10. Chinese Zhidou D2

The Chinese electric car Zhidou D2 closes the TOP-10 best-selling electric cars in Ukraine. At first glance, not everyone can even figure out what the name of a vehicle is. Nevertheless, the popularity of this model is gradually growing. Since the beginning of 2020, 10 units of this electric car have been sold in Ukraine.

This is the most budgetary, new electric car in Ukraine, but also the smallest among those listed in the rating. Many people compare it to the compact Smart car.

The battery capacity in the latest versions is 18 kW * h, which allows you to drive 250 kilometers without recharging, although in reality many people say no more than 120 kilometers. The manufacturer does not yet provide more information about the electric car, since the copies are imported and are initially offered only for the Chinese market.
