Back in 2006, Dodge presented the 6th generation of the four-door Charger sedan, a model that has long become a cult model for millions of fans of the brand around the world.
In 2009 and then in 2014 the car underwent a planned restyling, as a result of which he received a spectacular appearance, a better interior and more productive filling.
However, the most significant event of the model over the past few years was the release of a special "charged" version of the SRT, which received the prefix "Hellcat"... It is an extremely powerful muscle car, only slightly inferior to the Dodge Challenger Demon and the Ford Mustang Super Snake, which is also the fastest production sedan in the world (apart from the electric Tesla).
Let it go the model is not officially presented in Russia, like the whole brand as a whole, but the car definitely deserves that we consider it in more detail.
The appearance of the new Dodge Charger
The Americans should be given their due, as in the SRT Hellcat version they managed to make the already stylish and aggressive appearance of the standard Dodge Charger even more brutal and expressive.
"Muzzle" of the charged Charger received a new hood with several air intakes, a powerful front bumper with a large air intake mouth and a modified false radiator grille pattern, which adorns the SRT Hellcat brand nameplate and a pair of auxiliary air intakes.

Interior decoration
The interior of the charged Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, although it does not shine with a large number of original solutions, looks quite stylish, sporty and rich. In front of the driver is a stylish three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a slightly cut lower rim and the “SRT” lettering in the center, as well as a well-read instrument panel, represented by an on-board computer and a pair of large analog dials.
In the center of the front dashboard there is an 8.4-inch "TV" of the multimedia information center, framed by vertical slots of the air duct deflectors, the control unit for the acoustic and air conditioning system.
For front passengers comfortable sports seats with quality lateral support, ample adjustments and upholstery in a combination of Nappa leather and Alcantara are offered.
Between the seats is a wide console on which there is a wide armrest, a gearbox selector and a small box for various small things.
Rear passengers the manufacturer offered a comfortable sofa, which, although profiled for two riders, can easily accommodate three adults.
Trunk volume charged Charger SRT Hellcat is equal to 467 liters, while the luggage compartment itself is capable of boasting a wide opening and a thoughtful layout.
In general, the sedan's interior leaves a positive impression not only with its sporty focus and good ergonomics, but also with high-quality materials. The assembly also does not raise any questions and is quite consistent with the cost of the muscle car.
2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Specifications
Under the hood of the "hot" Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is a high-performance 6.2-liter monster V8, familiar from its "brother" in the model range - the Dodge Challenger SRT. Its output is an impressive 717 "horses" and 881 Nm of torque, available at 6000 and 4800 rpm. With it, the acceleration from 0 to 100 takes just 3.9 seconds, and the average fuel consumption is just over 14.5 l / 100 km. The manufacturer emphasizes that the car is capable of accelerating to 160 km / h and making a full stop in just 30 seconds.
A couple of the power plant is a modern 8-speed "automatic" TorqueFlite 8НР90, endowed with three modes of operation and complemented by a pair of paddle shifters. Unlike most competitors, the manufacturer did not squeeze the speed potential of the "electronic collar", thanks to which the car is able to reach a maximum speed of 328 km / h.
Like the standard Dodge Charger, its charged version is based on the upgraded Chrysler LX bogie, which received an adaptive suspension with 5 modes of operation, where the Custom mode deserves special attention, which allows the driver to independently adjust the engine, transmission, chassis and auxiliary systems.
The steering sports an electric steering wheel, and the deceleration system is represented by disc mechanisms (front diameter 390 mm) with six-piston calipers from Brembo.
It is also worth remembering one interesting feature: the car comes with two ignition keys - black and red. When using a black key, the maximum engine power does not exceed 500 "horses", the maximum speed is limited to 4000 rpm, and the paddles are blocked. And in the case of using the red key, there are no restrictions.
Recall that in the "heated" versions of the R / T Scat Race and SRT, the car is aggregated with an eight-cylinder 6.4-liter petrol engine developing 492 "horses" and a peak torque of 644 Nm.
