The all-new 2016 Honda HR-V crossover, unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles International Auto Show, will go on sale in early summer 2015. Combines coupé styling, coolness, ample space and the goodies of the HR-V sports utility vehicle. The model offers not only the comfort of a passenger car, but also the proven suspension.

In appearance, the mini-crossover resembles the Honda CR-V hatchback, since it was from it that the design was taken as a basis, the base was taken from the Honda Fit. The design incarnation of the Honda HR-V has taken the very best features and combines both the comfort from a hatchback and good cross-country ability from an SUV.
As expected, we will begin to inspect the car in front and in a circle. They took the Honda Urban SUV Concept as a basis, the car was presented at one of the auto shows, but parts from other Honda cars were used for the concept. There will be three trim levels: Basic S, Standard E and Full EL.
The front of the car resembles the same new Honda Fit 2015, headlights with good, expressive optics, which gives the car not only beauty, but also an impressive appearance. The headlights are standard with halogen lamps in the Honda HR-V S configuration, in the HR-V E and EL trim levels with LED inserts on the sides and an automatic on / off system. All configurations include a DRL system that allows you to turn on the backlight in the daytime (many countries are now introducing a law on driving outside the city with the included dimensions).
The HR-V's grille has been slightly modified from the base we used to create it, split into two sections, an upper and a lower one, which sit on either side of the Honda badge. The part under the emblem has a more expressive look and takes up most of the space on the front of the Honda SR-V 2015-2016.
Thanks to this size, the designers not only made the car stand out from the stream of other cars, but also thought about a good airflow to cool the engine and radiator of the HR-V 2015-2016.
The lower part of the bumper, typical for most models, was left unchanged, a small grille insert emphasizes the massive bumper and the car in front. Fog lights are only available on the HR-V E and EL trims.
On the side, the new Honda HR-V 2015-2016 immediately gives the impression that instead of the usual four doors, there are only two in the car, the front driver's and the passenger's, but looking at the rear windows in the very corner, you can find the door handle. The design approach to this style turns the familiar SUV into a coupe. But still, according to many consumers, I would like the tailgate to be made a little longer, since the space between the rear wheel arch and the rear door fasteners is small, and not every passenger will sit comfortably in it. Smart Entry (easy door opening) is available in HR-V E and EL trims.
The dimensions of the body of the new Honda HR-V 2015-2016 are as compact as for an SUV:
- the length of the Honda HR-V is 4294 mm;
- vehicle width 1772 mm;
- height - 1605 mm;
- wheelbase - 2610 mm;
- the ground clearance of the Honda SHR-V is 185 mm, which is very good for a mini-crossover, but small for driving on serious off-road.
If you look at the rear of the HR-V, then the expressive LED feet are immediately striking, which the designers have placed both on the body of the car and on the trunk lid. There is a place for a number between the taillights, the designers decided to leave it unchanged, like other SUVs of this company, not to transfer it down to the bumper. An antenna in the form of a sail is installed on the roof. All configurations also include a rear spoiler with a stop repeater, painted in the body color. A wiper with washer is installed on the glass of the trunk lid. In the HR-V EL version, roof rails are installed on the roof.
Along the body of the new 2015-2016 Honda HR-V, there is a bend that divides the car into an upper and lower section, emphasizing its massiveness and sportiness. Large power mirrors allow you to get a good view of the situation around the Honda HR-V and maintain complete control of the road behind. Heated mirrors are only available on the E and EL trim levels, as is the mirror repeater. These functions are not available on the S trim level.
The panoramic roof is available in the HR-V E and EL trims and is also electrically operated to make opening and closing easier.
Any of the complete sets Honda SHR-V 2015-2016 includes 17-inch wheels with 215/55 tires. All configurations also include a remote-controlled security system.
As for the wipers in the Honda HR-V, two-speed wipers are installed in the basic S configuration, in the HR-V E and EL trim levels, variables with automatic are installed, that is, they have more options and speeds when used.

Convenient and comfortable rear seats can be folded, thereby forming a large flat area and increasing the volume of the trunk. The trunk volume of the 2016 HR-V without the seats folded is 688 liters, with the seats folded down 1665 liters of usable volume. The upholstery of the Honda HR-V also depends on the selected configuration, for example, for the EL configuration, the seats will be covered with leather, for the other two trim levels there will be fabric upholstery. In the E and EL equipment, the front seats will be heated; unfortunately, this function is not available in the S equipment.
As for comfort and control systems, the designers of the Honda HR-V did not stint and stuffed it with a lot of functionality. At first glance, the torpedo seems unusual, namely from the passenger part, where they are often used to seeing the glove compartment handle or airbag, the developers installed a long ventilation hole, on the center console of the torpedo there are two touch control panels, one multimedia, the second for climate control. The manufacturer installs a 5-inch screen with mechanical control for the S equipment. For the HR-V E and EL trim levels, a 7 "WVGA touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 is installed. The navigation system, HD Traffic system for road mapping and voice identification system are only available in the new HR-V EL trim.
An air conditioner is installed in the HR-V S configuration, an automatic climate control system is installed for the E and EL.
With amenities such as cruise control, telescopic steering column, chrome door handles are provided on all trim levels. The engine start button is installed only in the E and EL trim levels, the steering wheel is covered with leather only for the EL trim level, and only in this configuration an interactive rear-view mirror is installed, with the possibility of projection of a rear-view camera.
As for the multi-steering wheel control system, the cruise control, audio system and telephone control system are installed for the S and E equipment. For the EL configuration, in addition to the mentioned configurations, the navigation system control is also added.
Not unimportant, and I think the most interesting, for any driver is the dashboard. The manufacturer Honda HR-V 2016 decided to place the usual things, this is a speedometer in the center, a tachometer on the left and right, a set of instruments responsible for the engine temperature, odometer, fuel level in the tank. Thanks to the 40-liter underfloor tank, the HR-V has more space both in the cabin and in the boot. As for the indicators themselves, the manufacturer did not stint and put it on every system in the car.It can show both an unfastened seat belt and other minor breakdowns or shortcomings.

The safety of passengers of the Honda HR-V was also not spared. It can be divided into active and passive. The active safety system HR-V includes the stabilization system, ABS, EBD, all configurations, except for the above, include a tire pressure monitoring system and a rear-view camera, with a projection onto the display.

To help the engine, a manual six-speed gearbox is installed on the Honda HR-V 2015-2016 for the S configuration, for this configuration, only the front-wheel drive version is available, for the E and EL configurations, a CVT automatic transmission is installed, in the E and EL only all-wheel drive is installed AWD system with intelligent control. It will automatically enable or disable four-wheel drive.

I would like to see a more powerful engine under the hood of the Honda HR-V, but still do not forget which car was taken as the basis for creating this mini-crossover. The variety of gearboxes, depending on the vehicle configuration, does not make it possible to fully feel it for those who like to step on the gas. The Honda HR-V is most likely created for those who love a stylish car, quiet driving on city roads, and not the classic SUV for driving on swampy country roads.
