Automotive manufacturer Audi has officially unveiled the all-electric e-tron crossover at the San Francisco Auto Show. The novelty has shown excellent performance in terms of power reserve and the most modern complete set in terms of functionality. According to reliable data, the power reserve will last for 400 km without recharging, and the electric crossover Audi e-tron will overcome the first hundred on the speedometer in 5.8 seconds.

The front of the new electric Audi e-tron has been adorned with a branded radiator grill with a small hole for cooling the batteries. As it should be for this class of cars, the front and rear optics of the Audi e-tron crossover are fully LED. The taillights are highlighted by a continuous line connected to each other, which also underlines the status of the Audi e-tron.

The highlight of the novelty are virtual side mirrors, which instead of glasses received HD cameras, such a set, according to the manufacturer, will only be in the top trim levels of the Audi e-tron 2019. The cameras broadcast the image to two side displays installed in the door panels. Due to the use of these types of mirrors, the drag coefficient of the Audi e-tron is 0.28. Otherwise, the appearance of the electric crossover is fully reminiscent of the latest brand innovations.

The interior of the electric crossover Audi e-tron is also made in the style of the brand's new products. The front panel is decorated with a modern digital panel based on a color screen. The main console is distinguished by two additional 12 ″ touchscreen displays. One display is reserved for the multimedia system, the second display for the climate control panel. For an additional fee, the manufacturer will install on the side panels of the doors two 7 ″ displays for virtual side mirrors. According to the engineers of Audi e-tron, the image of these displays can be scaled and moved, just like on a smartphone. The system offers 3 adjustment modes for such mirrors: for city and highway driving, for parking and for cornering. The steering wheel of the Audi e-tron electric crossover is made with 4 spokes, the top two are reserved for function buttons. The transmission selector will surprise no less, it is made in the form of a fixed handle on the central tunnel, with a key on the end part. It is by switching this key that all control of the movement of the Audi e-tron electric crossover will be carried out. In total, the interior of the novelty is designed for 5 full-fledged seats, including the driver's seat. For a fee, they offer several options for leather interior upholstery, a new 4-zone climate control, a panoramic roof and a modern Bang & Olufsen audio system.

With regard to the technical characteristics of the Audi e-tron, the full list will become known after the official start of sales. The only presented model of the electric crossover Audi e-tron 55 quattro is equipped with two electric motors. The engineers installed one engine on each axle. The total power of the units is 408 horses, and the maximum torque is 664 Nm. To ensure the storage of electricity, a battery pack with a capacity of 95 kW * h was used, located under the floor of the crossover passenger compartment. The operating voltage of the battery of the electric car is 400 V, to recharge the batteries at 80% from the station, 30 minutes is enough, although you can also charge from a regular household outlet, at the same time the charging time will be several hours.

The simplest wall charger charges the battery of the electric car in 8.5 hours, for an additional fee, you can get 22 kW charging, then a full battery charge will take 4.5 hours. The main plus of the new electric crossover Audi e-tron is the recuperation system, which allows you to return about 70% of the electricity to the battery. According to various measurements and tests, the car restores the spent or kinetic energy, thereby replenishing the battery charge. According to the WLTP test, which has recently become the main one and shows more realistic data, the Audi e-tron's power reserve will last for 400 km without recharging. The crossover will overcome the first hundred square meters on the speedometer in 5.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 200 km / h.

Basic configuration electric crossover Audi e-tron received air suspension, with the ability to change the ground clearance. According to the standard, the ground clearance is 172 mm, the suspension can lower it to 76 mm. If you choose the off-road mode of movement, the suspension will increase it by 35 mm, relative to the standard clearance. Two more positive suspension options for the Audi e-tron crossover: the function of jumping over the obstacle (Raise mode), due to a sharp increase in ground clearance by an additional 15 mm, and the swing function, in the event of wheel slip. There is plenty of space in terms of space, both in the cabin and in the luggage compartment. In addition, a small 60-liter compartment was allocated under the hood for storing the charging cord and other tools.

According to preliminary data, the serial production of the electric crossover Audi e-tron started at the company's plant in Belgium. The first deliveries of new items to dealerships are expected by the end of 2018. The starting price of the Audi e-tron in Germany starts at 79,900 euros. In the US car market, an electric car will cost between $ 74,800 and $ 86,700. Regarding Russia, the appearance of the new Audi e-tron is planned for the second quarter of 2019, at the same time the ruble prices will be announced.
